Christian Bale

     In "American Bluff", the character of Irving Rosenfeld, the brilliant hustler, is played by the excellent and talented Christian Bale.

     This actor has already got a long career behind him. Indeed, he began the cinema at the age of ten years and three years later, he played the main role in the Steven Spielberg' film, "Empire of the sun".

     Even though, he never went at the Actor's Studio, he managed to make a name in the world of cinema. Today, he is well known as Bruce Wayne, the rich businessman who becomes all nights, a masked justicer, in the Christopher Nolan's trilogy, "The Dark Knight".

     Furthermore, he worked for and with the greatest directors and actors in the world. For instances, he played in "The New World" of Terrence Malick alongside Collin Farrell or in "Public Enemies" with Johnny Depp directed by Michael Mann.

     What's more, he is an actor, who adapts entirely his characters, he stretches the limits of his body, alternating the body-building and diets. In fact, his most impressive performance is the one of the movie "The Machinist", where he embodied an insomniac and weary worker. In order to play perfectly this role, he lost 28 kilograms.

     It's an operation who he repeated for his first collaboration with David O. Russell, in the film untitled "Fighter".

     However, in the second, in "American Bluff", the director asked to him to gain this time 18 kilograms. As a consequence, it's an unrecognizable Christian Bale almost bald and paunchy that we can see. A transformation which didn't save him because he suffered from a strict hernia. However, it wasn't for nothing because this gave to the character of Irving Rosenfeld a humoristic and endearing touch. He won numerous prices, whose one Oscar, as best actor in a supporting role for "Fighter". This years he was also nominated, but in the category of best actor in a leading role for "American Bluff". Unfortunately, he didn't win.

Robert DeNiro

      With 50 years of career,
more than 100 films rolled, about thirty nominations, Robert De Niro is considered
as one of the best actor for generations. After a few classes of dramatic art,
and the Actor's studio, he had got a discreet beginning in the cinema. His
talents of comedian were revealed thanks to Martin Scorsese in his movie
untitled "Mean Streets". It will not the only collaboration because he becomes
at this moment, the fetish actor of the director and they will work together
for "Goodfellas", "Cape Fear", "Casino" or "Taxi Driver"... He worked with the
greatest directors in the world, like Francis Ford Coppola in "The Godfather",
Quentin Tarantino in "Jackie Brown", Luc Besson in "The Family". Last year, he
played the role of an invasive father in the David O. Russell's comedy,
untitled "Silver Linings Playbook". Thanks to it, he won the Oscar of the best
actor in a supporting role.  He appears
also in "American Bluff" where he plays a traditional Mafioso.  A brief apparition but essential, no one
except him will give to the character this incredible nonchalance and rigidity.
